Web browsers your choice,
Definition: A web browser is a software application which enables a user to display and interact with text, images, videos, music and other information typically located on a Web page at a website on the World Wide Web. All modern PC computers come with Internet explorer IE ( IE7 current version ) pre installed but did you know that there is more than once choice when it comes to browsers. Approximately 20% of computer users chose to use Mozilla Firefox which is a free software and not owned by Microsoft like IE. Firefox offers several advantages over IE such as  better security, faster loading of web pages, pop up blockers, download manager &  tab browsing which all enhance the use of the Internet. Security is probably the greatest advantage of Firefox which is less vulnerable to malicious software and spy ware which causes all sorts of problems that any business can do with out.

Internet Speed and your ISP

The Internet is becoming a more and more important part of any business and in the past many companies where stuck with little choice when it came to choosing a Internet service provider - ISP. There have been big changes in the Internet over the past couple of years, the Internet is getting faster and faster and at a fraction of the cost. There are now many different companies  that offer fast Internet at an affordable rate. Having said that many people are still stuck with expensive contracts and slow Internet speeds. My advise to anyone is to do your research before committing to a long contract with any ISP. Ideally everyone should now have ADSL2 ( thought not available in all areas ) which offers far greater Internet speed than previously available. Companies such as iiNet and TPG have some very competitive Internet packages available. You may also find that your current ISP may be able to provide faster Internet to you but wont offer it to you unless you ask. A good tool to check the speed of your current Internet is
